Help Kosovo support for the Flood Causes

ÇDO DONACION I JUAJI PËR FAMILJET E PREKURA NGA VËRSHIMET NË KOSOVË DO TË DYFISHOHET NGA Z Zurich Foundation
Në javën e tretë të janarit, rajonet perëndimore dhe veriore të Kosovës u përballën me vërshime të shpejta duke shkaktuar probleme të furnizimit me ujë, rrëshqitje të dheut dhe dëmtime të mëdha në shtëpi. Më shumë se 600 familjeve u detyruan të evakuojnë shtëpitë e tyre, për t’u kthyer disa javë më vonë, në shtëpi të pabanueshme dhe të dëmtuara. Me këto pengesa ende po përballen 1060 familje nga komuna e Mitrovicës, Skenderajt dhe Klinës.
Këto familje janë ende në vështirësi për të blerë gjërat e nevojshme për shtëpitë e tyre, duke përfshirë edhe pajisjet elektro-shtëpiake.

In the third week of January, the western and northern regions of Kosovo dealt with flash floods causing water supply problems, landslides, and severe damage to houses. More than 600 families had to flee their homes, only to return weeks later, to uninhabitable and damaged houses. A total of 1060 families from the municipalities of Mitrovica, Skenderaj and Klina are facing these obstacles today.
These families are still struggling to buy the basic necessities for their homes including household electrical appliances.

Help activities during floodings in Kosovo

Help Kosovo today conducted a fieldwork visit to Mitrovica to assess the needs of the families and homes hit by the flash floods. Fidanishte (str.Adem Voca) neighborhood is one of the damaged areas and is predominantly populated by non-majority communities.
Immediate needs are renovations of the homes (flooring, furniture, electrical appliances), clothes for children, and hygienic packages.

Help Misioni në Kosovë, zhvilloi sot një vizitë në terren në Mitrovicë për të vlerësuar nevojat e familjeve dhe shtëpive të goditura nga vërshimet.
Lagjja Fidanishte (rr. Adem Voca) është një nga zonat e dëmtuara dhe është e populluar kryesisht nga komunitetet joshumicë.
Nevojat e menjëhershme janë renovimet e shtëpive (dysheme, mobilje, paisje elektroshtëpiake), veshje për fëmijë dhe paketa higjienike.

Më 24 Janar 2023 Help Misioni në Kosovë, zhvilloi një tjetër vizitë në teren në Skënderaj për të vlerësuar nevojat e familjeve dhe shtëpive të goditura nga vërshimet.
Fshatrat Tushilë, Llaushë, Kuçicë janë disa nga zonat e dëmtuara.
Nevojat e menjëhershme janë renovimet e shtëpive(dysheme, mobilje, paisje elektroshtëpiake), veshje për fëmijë dhe pakot higjienike.

Help Mission in Kosovo donated 450 hygienic packages to the families affected by the flash floods in Kosovo. 300 packages were distributed in the Fidanishte neighborhood (rr. Adem Voca) in Mitrovica and 150 to the municipality of Skenderaj.

Help supported the jewelry making training for inmates in Lipjan CS

After signing the contract between Help and SH.P.K “FILIGRAN” on 15.12 2021, Help started preparations for the handicraft course at the Correctional Center for women in Lipjan, secured the materials and work tools, the training started in mid-December 2021.

In the first part of the course, the importance of preserving the Filigree was explained and then the working methods. Five (5) candidates continued the training until the end during the 12-month period. In the workshop, it was worked pure silver.

After the writing of the silver is done, the preparation of the wire is done with different dimensions depending on the article which was worked with.

Trained candidates have shown great ambition and willingness to learn this methodology. In the beginning, there were the initial elements, then moved on to the manufacture of articles according to the filigree work models, during the passage of time it was allowed to work independently, including the design and the work until the finalization of the product.

The finalized items have been cleaned with 20% HCL acid and bicarbonate soda NaHC03 and were exhibited in the facilities of the Correctional Center in Lipjan.

CIRCLE project finalization

On the 18th of January 2023, the competition for Project CIRCLE (Help Innovation Project) was held. 12 young girls and women from the ages of 18 to 35 of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities competed for grants in the form of equipment to support or startup their micro businesses. Three winners were selected, two of which are joint projects and in the sectors of; Marketing and Digital Design, Gastronomy, and Hairdressing.
The competition was the second component of this project, whereas the first was the training of 31 young girls and women in business development and social media marketing.
The project is jointly implemented through the local NGO Organizata për Stabilitet Socio-Ekonomik – OSSE

40 youngsters benefited from the Skill Up Project

On the 14th of December 2022, the certification ceremony for the trainees of the Skill Up Project was held in Makerspace Innovation Center Prizren. This project was implemented jointly with Makerspace Innovation Center, as training providers. 24 youngsters between the ages of 18-35 from the Municipality of Prizren, gained training in the field of Graphic Design, Accounting through Software & taxes which enables the generation of new working places. The project has already started showing its impact as one of the trainees was employed during the training.
Furthermore, 16 from the trainees are women and girls which contributes to higher participation rates of women in the field of ICT.

On the 22nd of December 2022, the certification ceremony for the trainees of the Skill Up Project was held, additionally the students presented the projects they developed. The project is financed and ideated by Help Mission in Kosovo and implemented by Beetroot Academy Kosovo, as accredited training providers. 16 youngsters between the ages of 18-35, gained training in the field of Front-End Development which enables the generation of new working places.

Help awarded on women empowerment in Kosovo

“They Believed They Could So They Did” R S Grey

On December 15th, 2022, the first award ceremony was held for the most successful women of the Republic of Kosovo from all communities, titled ‘Golden Crown’.

The event was organized under the patronage of the Cabinet for Human Rights and Non-Majority Communities of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister Emilija Redžepi in cooperation with the NGO Lady – CC 4 Women.

Shqipe Breznica, Country Director of Help Mission in Kosovo, was awarded for the contribution in women’s economic empowerment through grants for employment.
