HELP CONTINUES EMERGENCY ACTION TO ASSIST CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN MANAGING THE SITUATION AGAINST CORONAVIRUS

Based on the request for support from Kosovo Correctional Services (KCS) as our partner in project implementation, Help Mission in Kosovo today supported this institution with articles such as: disinfectants, hydrogen, latex glove, sterile set (coats) and disinfectant for external use.

Always by applying preventive measures as recommended by the government regarding our (staff’s) safety.

Help Emergency action to assist Institutions in managing the situation against Coronavirus

Help is of course still in action for people in need, despite the Corona pandemic always following recommendations from the Government and WHO.
Help Mission in Kosovo activated emergency assistance and in coordination with medical staff today contributed disinfectant for aspirator, liquid instrument disinfectant, wet medical paper, latex gloves with powder, sterile surgeon’s coats, patient’s shirts, cover for Nobashuco shoes, toilet paper and disposable nylon apron.
Thank you very much for the willingness and cooperation of the Emergency Operations Center staff within the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

Help started informing citizens about the 2020 project

Help Kosovo started organizing information sessions in the municipalities involved in the project for 2020 in the framework of the project “Support to Socio-Economic Stability in the Western Balkans” which will be held in Pristina, Gjakova and Skenderaj and within the project “Support to Socio-Economic Stability in Kosovo ” which will take place in Podujeva and Drenas.
During 2020 at least 140 clients/beneficiaries will be supported, from 30 in Prishtina, Gjakova, Podujeva and Drenas, while in Skenderaj there will be at least 20 clients/beneficiaries.
After completing informative meetings with citizens, the application phase will follow until March 20th at 4:00 pm.

Organizata Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe njofton publikun e gjerë rreth projekteve të vitit 2020:
1. “Mbështetje stabilitetit socio-ekonomik në Ballkanin Përendimor” përkrahet financiarisht nga Ministria e Punëve të Jashtme e Qeverisë Gjermane, dhe bashke-financohet nga komunat partnere të Republikës së Kosovës (Prishtina, Gjakova dhe Skënderaj) ndërsa implementohet nga Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe Misioni në Kosovë.
2. “Mbështetje stabilitetit socio-ekonomik në Kosovë” përkrahet financiarisht nga Medicor Foundation, dhe bashke-financohet nga komunat partnere të Republikës së Kosovës (Drenas dhe Podujevë) ndërsa implementohet nga Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe Misioni në Kosovë.
Qëllimi i projektit është ngritja e kapaciteteve të grupeve të cenueshme ne sferën ekonomike dhe shoqërore, ne mënyrë që te ju krijohen mundësitë për pjesëmarrje aktive në shoqëri.
Objektiv specifik është: zvogëlimi i nivelit të varfërisë në mesin e grupeve ekonomikisht të cenueshme.
Komponentët e projektit janë grantet për mikro bizneset; Trajnime për biznes dhe trajnime profesionale dhe mbështetje Qendrave korrektuese/burgjeve në Kosovë që synon të ndikojë në rehabilitimin/risocializimin e tyre dhe do të kontribuojë në stabilitetin socio-ekonomik.

Help supports Podujeva Municipality with at least 30 grants for 2020

On 07.02.2020 Help signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Podujeva for the support of at least 30 micro businesses in 2020. The Vice Mayor of the Municipality, Mr. Nexhmi Rudari expressed satisfaction with the achievement of this agreement with Help Organization where he also expressed his willingness to successfully implement the project. Country Director of Help, Shqipe Breznica encouraged citizens to follow the activities of Help Organization and use this opportunity to develop their businesses. This agreement will be followed by informative sessions with the citizens of Podujeva in February 2020, where everyone will be informed about the method of applying for grants. The purpose of this agreement is the cooperation between the Municipality of Podujeva and Help in the framework of the project “Support to Socio-Economic Stability in Kosovo”, funded by the Medicor Foundation, co-financed by the Municipality of Podujeva and implemented by Help.

Help supports the rehabilitation of Kindergarten in Kavaja

Today a partnership agreement was signed between Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe represented by Shqipe Breznica, Country Director and Plan&Go Center in Tirana (Albania) represented by Malbora Shahini. The purpose of this Partnership Agreement is to support the rehabilitation of Kindergarten “Tre Deshmoret” in Kavaja Municipality affected by the earthquake in Albania. Through Help’s support and cooperation with the Municipality of Kavaja, Plan&Go will intervene in the rehabilitation of this Kindergarten attended by 200 children of Kavaja and nearby villages. The rehabilitation will also encourage social inclusiveness, provide a safe place for children as well and support children’s emotional situation especially after the earthquake. In the aftermath the devastating earthquake that hit Albania on 26 November 2019, Help has been providing immediate aid to the local population on the most affected areas. Help has managed to raise funds from Council of North Rhine-Westphalia, (German “Staatskanzlei NRW”) and aims to continue its support to the families affected by the earthquake through additional structured interventions. Plan&Go is a grass-root organization that supports the most vulnerable children, families and communities in Albania; it has consolidated its expertise and experience in providing immediate multidisciplinary emergency responses to individuals and social groups exposed to risks. Special thanks for Ilir Lico, Alma Grazhdani and Butrint Tuzi who were part of this partnership that was successfully concretized today.

Sot u nënshkrua marrëveshje partneriteti mes Help- Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe përfaqësuar nga Shqipe Breznica – Drejtoreshë dhe Qenda Plan & Go në Tiranë (Shqipëri) përfaqësuar nga Malbora Shahini. Pas tërmetit shkatërrues që goditi Shqipërinë në 26 Nëntor 2019, Help ka ofruar ndihmë të menjëhershme për popullatën lokale në zonat më të prekura dhe ka arritur të mbledhë fonde nga Këshilli i Rhine-Westphalia të Veriut, (gjermanisht “Staatskanzlei NRW”) dhe synon të vazhdojë mbështetjen e saj për familjet e prekura nga tërmeti përmes ndërhyrjeve të tjera strukturore. Plan & Go është një organizatë që mbështet fëmijët, familjet dhe komunitetet më të rrezikuara në Shqipëri; ajo ka konsoliduar ekspertizën dhe përvojën e saj në ofrimin e përgjigjeve të menjëhershme multidisiplinare të urgjencës për individët dhe grupet sociale të ekspozuar ndaj rreziqeve. Outreach activity in Municipality of Drenas

Officials of the Help Organization together with the representatives of Drenas Municipality started informing the citizens about the possibility of grants through the placement of posters in the town and the surrounding villages. On this occasion, informative meetings will be organized with the citizens in the framework of the project “Support to socio-economic stability in Kosovo” which will be implemented in Drenas municipality where at least 30 micro businesses will receive grants in the form of equipment.
This project is funded by the Medicor Foundation and co-funded by the Municipality of Drenas and implemented by Help Kosovo. All citizens of Drenas municipality have the right to apply during 2020. Application forms can be obtained during informational meetings in the municipality or downloaded from the website at: www.help-kosovo.org or on the official website of the municipality https://kk.rks-gov.net/gllogoc/.
The deadline for applications is Friday 20 March 2020, 4:00 pm and the application formally begins after the informative meetings.

Outreach activity for the 2020 project

Help Kosovo organizes information meetings with citizens in the framework of the project “Supporting Socio-Economic Stability in the Western Balkans Region 2019-2020” which will be implemented in Pristina, Gjakova and Skenderaj. This project is funded by the German Government, partner municipalities and implemented by Help Kosovo.

All citizens from partner municipalities (Pristina, Gjakova and Skenderaj) have the right to apply for the year 2020.

Application forms can be obtained during information meetings in your municipality or downloaded from the web site at: www.help-kosovo.org.

Application deadline is March 20, 2020 Friday, 16:00, the application formally begins after the information meetings

Information meetings in Pristina will be held on 12.02.2020 at 10:00 in the Municipal Assembly Hall. In Gjakova informative meetings will be held on 13.02.2020 and 20.02.2020 at 11:00 in the Municipal Assembly Hall. Whereas in Skenderaj will be held on 11.02.2020 and 18.02.2020 at 11:00 in the Municipal Assembly Hall.
