Help Kosovo supported 316 businesses in 2017

Help Kosovo has supported 244 small businesses in 2017, from which 68 in the Municipality of Peja, 52 in Vushtrri, 43 in Prizren, 33 in Novoberd, 23 in Gjakova and 22 in Gracanica, 67 in Prishtina, 4 in Gjilan and 4 special grants.
Also we have to mention that Help has supported 6 Community Entrepreneurial Initiatives in Kosovo (2 in Prishtina, 1 in Istog, 1 in Peja, 1 in Prizren and 1 in Gjakova).
The support means equipment required by the clients which are interested in creating a start up business or developing an existing business. We will continue our project in 2018 with other Municipalities.

412 training provided in 2017 by Help Kosovo

In Novoberdo municipality Help provided training for 54 clients. The training were in business training, and agricultural farm visits.

In Peja municipality Help provided training for 82 clients. The training were in business training, and agricultural farm visits.

In Prizren municipality Help provided training for 64 clients. The training were in business training, agricultural farm visits, hairdresser, capacity building and milk processing.

In Vushtrri municipality Help provided training for 135 clients. The training were in business administration, sales and marketing, taxes and accounting, business training, farm management, 3Dmax, beautician hairdressing and agro farm visits.

In Gjakova municipality Help provided training for 62 clients. The training were in Service management, business administration, sales and marketing, taxes and accounting, farm management, photography training, and agro farm visits.

In Gracanica municipality Help provided trainings for 15 clients. The training were in farm management and agro farm visits.

Municipalities in 2018

Project “Support to socio-economic stability in the western Balkans region 2017-2018” supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the German Government started as of May 2017 and will end December 2018. Municipalities included in 2018 are Suhareka, Lipjan, Decan, Shterpce, Istog, Mitrovica and North Mitrovica.
The overall objective of the program is to increase the capacity of economically and socially vulnerable groups to participate more fully in society. Specific objective of the program: Decreased levels of poverty among economically vulnerable groups.
The project components that will lead to the direct job creation, thus contribute to the socio-economic stability in targeted areas, are:  Grants for micro businesses; Business and vocational trainings and Support community entrepreneurial initiatives throughout the country

Help Kosovo participating to the roundtable event “Women’s Entrepreneurship”

Help Kosovo today is participating to the roundtable event “Women’s Entrepreneurship” organized by Riinvest Institute has the pleasure to invite you. The roundtable event is part of the project “Women Economic Forum”, supported by USAID through ATRC as well as by German Cooperation through GIZ. At this event, the main findings of the survey conducted with 313 women entrepreneurs will be presented, the first of this magnitude in Kosovo. The analysis of business conditions led by women, was conducted by focusing on business characteristics and performance, barriers to doing business, financing, and socio-economic issues. The report analyzes the data gathered, in order to provide research based information and recommendations on unique characteristics, the current role, and the opportunity for the growth of women entrepreneurs. In this way, the event will serve as a platform to discuss recommendations aiming to improve the actual situation.

Signing cooperation agreement with Mitrovica Municipality

On 31st of July the Cooperation Agreement was signed between Help and Mitrovica Municipality in the framework of the project “Supporting Socio-Economic Stability in the Western Balkans”. In 2018, Help will support at least 20 businesses with grants and training.

The average amount of the grant is 2000 € in the form of equipment. Each citizen of Kosovo is encouraged to apply.
