Help in Kosovo attended SUBEX in North Macedonia

Help in Kosovo attended SUBEX – Suppliers Balkan Expo conference in Skopje, North Macedonia for stakeholders mapping purpose with the focus on ICT.
Subex is a platform for cooperation opportunities and B2B meetings with German companies operating in the region, as well as companies from the countries of the Western Balkans, from the light industry (metal, plastic, wood, food and beverage, textile industry) and the ICT sector.
SUBEX is organized by AHK Nordmazedonien and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

Today on the 14th of November 2022 Help Kosovo signed a partnership agreement with the INDUSTRIA FILM LLC represented by Artan Korenica as implementing partner within the RECONOMY Project.
The RECONOMY Programme is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and is implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (Helvetas) together with Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe.

Help at “Western Balkans Summit Against Racial Discrimination”

Help Mission in Kosovo is part of the “Western Balkans Summit Against Racial Discrimination”.
The Regional Summit aims to bring together heads of Governments, representatives of high-level state institutions, CSOs, journalists and many other actors from the Western Balkans to exchange experiences regarding the actions undertaken by the Governments of the region to combat racism and discrimination against Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities and to discuss ways to break the cycle of social exclusion. The summit will also focus on the phenomenon of Anti-Gypsyism, especially the definition of Anti-Gypsyism, to discuss whether it is a generally accepted definition for public institutions, civil society and academia. The slogan of the Summit this year will be “Together and equal”!
The summit is organized under the leadership of the Office of the Prime Minister – Republic of Kosovo with the support of Terre des hommes – Kosovo Mission in Kosovo, Voice of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians and the Heks/Eper Foundation, within the project – Justice Social for Romēt, Ashkali and Egyptians funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

A little help goes a long way!

Through financial support from Help Mission for Kosovo, two public preschools, in the Municipality of Pristina have benefited necessary equipment.
Thus, 300 children in these institutions have benefited from this realized project. Through this initiative, Lulevera and Dielli preschools were supported with 59 beds and 27 mattresses for children.

32 more trainees benefited within Reconomy

During Oct 2022 Help Mission continued to monitor the implementation of Becoming Freelance Digital Accountant in partnership with Melita&Partners in Kosovo within Reconomy.

Out of a total of 51 candidates in Kosovo, 36 are women which proves that Gender Equality and Social Inclusion – GESI concept has been taken into consideration into the intervention’s implementation.

On the 27th of October, Help Mission in Kosovo representatives attended the certification event for KUDO trainees in Albania.
A total of 32 trainees completed training on Financial Digital Freelancing thus became International QuickBooks Certified Users.
The next training will start on 16th of November!

Help organized regional meeting in Albania

Representatives from Help’s offices across the Western Balkans and in Ukraine, as well Help’s headquarters in Germany, met in Tirana for the regional meeting.
Mr Timo Stegelmann, Help’s Joint Managing Director, was also present.
The second and final day of the regional meeting of Help’s offices in the Western Balkans and Ukraine was focused on the synergy that local offices should have between each other.

20 trash bins donated to Municipality of Istog

Help Mission in Kosovo, Kosovo Correctional Service of Kosovo and the Municipality of Istog established an effective synergy in the financing, producing, and assembling of trash bins within the respective Municipality.
The significance and uniqueness of this project lies within the production of the trash bins, as they were produced by the prisoners of the Dubrava Prison, where Help previously provided professional training in the field of welding and necessary materials.
Municipality of Istog and Help-Hilfe zur Selbthilfe, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), through each, Help Mission in Kosovo will support the Municipality of Istog through a donation with 20 trash bins.
This Memorandum was signed within the project “Socio-Economic Empowerment of the Western Balkans” supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the German Government.
